Autourun.inf folder

Today, as mentioned Online CCNA Final Exam took place at MPK5 at 9.00 a.m. The duration for the exam was 2 hours and I successfully completed answering the questions within one hour and 45 minutes and I got the mark right after submitting the exam and the result is not too good…whatever….and one of my friends caught cheating….by the lecture..How can she google the internet while answering the examination??? And tomorrow we will have networking final exam…and yet I haven’t go through the chapters…..About 2.00 p.m, my friends asking me the venue for tomorrow’s examination….But I have no idea too….and that is not a big deal since tomorrow examination will be in evening and I still have time to ask another friends of mine……Actually, I got a problem since the last 2 days where in my drive c: / there is a folder named autorun.inf that cannot be deleted..I have used Lock Hunter; similar software to Unlocker… tool for unlock/delete the undeleted file or file in use…but it is unsuccessful…I thought it is caused by a virus…while I understand that autorun.inf is a virus that is spread via pendrive…And I can’t even remember how many times I’ve inserted it into my computer……
The screenshot of the autorun folder:
Picture1

I don’t think it brings any harm to my computer since I detect no degradation in my computer performance but…it is annoying and I really want to dispel this out of my computer….When I try to delete this files ..Here is the error message I get

Picture2

Error Deleting File or Folder

Cannot delete lpt3.This folder was created by Flash_Disinfector: Cannot find the specified file.

Make sure you specify the correct path and file name.

OK

I try to look up the solution in the internet and what a thrill for me….it’s not a virus or anything that is harmful to my computer… most of the solutions  I get said that it is a folder created by the Flash Disinfector…(What is Flash Disinfector???-Flash Disinfector is very good free program created by sUBs for removing autorun.inf Trojans and protect your Flash/Pen drives from future infection) the folder is not malicious… it’s made so that the autorun folder cannot be over written and viruses cannot be put on the drive…..and it also says that it is not advisable to remove the autorun.inf folder. It was placed there by Flash Disinfector to prevent viruses from creating the autorun.inf file on your flash drive…..again

Now, I understand that Flash Disinfector puts that folder there to trick windows into not running any autorun.inf’s on infected flash drives (and therefore preventing an infected flash drive from automatically infecting the pc) ,

What I have to do is take everything off my USB drive that I want to keep and simply format the flash drive……and they says don’t select quick format…. because this will get rid of EVERYTHING on the drive.. including any preinstalled autorun software.

Again as they say, we cannot remove this file using standard remove function. Below is how to remove this file and autorun.inf folder and uninstall Flash Disinfector protection.

* Click Start -> Run.

* Type notepad and press Enter.

* Copy all the text below into Notepad.

@echo off

set drv=c:\

attrib -A -H -S -R %drv%\autorun.inf

del \\.\%drv%\autorun.inf\”lpt3.This folder was created by Flash_Disinfector”

rd %drv%\autorun.inf

* Save this as remove_fd.bat to your Desktop (remember to select Save as file type: All files in Notepad).

* Double Click remove_fd.bat and wait for the dos window to close and file.txt will appear on the desktop.

* Repeat previous steps to all drives; make replacing c with the appropriate drive letter.

And I still insist to delete the folder….by using Unlocker… (The easiest way rather using manual way) this is such a great tool to delete/unlock files in use…I’ve used this once…it ok…But I do switch it to software of its kind…..at first just to compare…now????I have to download it back…!!!!
